Framer to host September artists' critique

| August 29, 2012 7:00 PM

Greg Smith hosts September’s Crits & Croissants forum at the Hockaday Museum of Art.

The forum gives those who create art a chance to have their work reviewed by professionals. September’s forum runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 8.

Smith owns Frame It and has been a fine art picture framer for nearly 30 years. In this special session of Crits & Croissants, Smith will discuss differences between acid free and museum, mats, glass and tape.

Smith also makes his own barn wood frames and will be available to help anyone trying to make frames. Smith is an artist as well. He works in oils, watercolor, acrylic, pastel and photography, and points out that each can be framed differently.

Artists 15 and older may bring one or more pieces of recently created artwork for critique at the forum. There is a $5 participant fee for museum members, $7 for nonmembers.

Crits & Croissants is held on the second Saturday of every month, September through May. The museum is located at 302 Second Ave. E., Kalispell.
