Mary M. (Lensing) Hammer, 85

Mary M. (Lensing) Hammer, 85, formerly of Troy and Libby, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at her home in Spokane Valley, Wash., with her loving family at her side.

She was  born April 26, 1927, in Missoula, to William B. and Sylvia J. (Jaques) Lensing. She grew up and attended school in Deer Lodge.

She married Peter William Hammer on Aug. 28, 1948, in Great Falls.

Mary enjoyed bingo, Po-Ke-No, yard sales, bowling, the Game Show Network and, most of all, her family.

She lived at Park Place Independent Living in Spokane for 10 years before moving in with her daughter and granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Sylvia Lensing; her husband, Peter; siblings, Gordon Lensing, Delores Lensing, Rose Hall, Myra Humphrey and Bill Lensing; grandson, Bryan Baker; and sons-in-law, Bruce Baker and Dale Bowker.

Survivors include her children, Frances Baker of Spokane, Betty Warner and Ed of Kalispell, Peggy Smith of Spokane Valley, Bill Hammer and Karla of Oldtown, Idaho, and Rose Bowker of Spokane Valley, Wash.; sisters, Sharon Howery of Helena, and Betty White of Spokane; grandchildren, O'Lene Rowden, Darryn Baker, Dusty Baker, Scott Warner and Stacy, Jerome Warner and Karen, Chrystal Smith, Amber Smith, Heather Erickson, Charity Baker, Travis Hammer, Angela Hammer, Kamy Bowker, and Peggy and Jeff Eveland; 19 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mass of the Resurrection will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Libby. Parish vigil and rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby, with visitation from 4 to 7 p.m.
