The Flathead County Election Department is on the move again to better accommodate voters for the upcoming general election.

The department will relocate to the Country Fair Kitchen at the county fairgrounds on Friday and will remain there through the general election on Nov. 6.

The same arrangement was made earlier this year to accommodate the primary election.

County residents will be able to register to vote in person at the Country Fair Kitchen starting Tuesday, Sept. 4. The Election Department mailing address and phone number will remain the same: 800 S. Main, Room 115, Kalispell, MT 59901 and 758-5535.

Absentee voting starts Tuesday, Oct. 9, including mailing absentee ballots and voting in person, and will continue through noon on Monday, Nov. 5. Voters wishing to absentee vote in person will only be able to do this at the Country Fair Kitchen.

Election Department business hours will remain the same, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Absentee ballots will be issued to late registrants up until noon on Nov. 5; late registrants who submit a registration application after that time will have to return to the Elections Department at the Country Fair Kitchen on election day, Tuesday, Nov. 6, to receive an absentee ballot, according to Election Administrator Paula Robinson.

Voters wanting to vote by absentee must request a ballot be mailed to them by submitting a completed absentee ballot application form. Requests for applications are available at the Flathead County Courthouse, 800 S. Main St.; the Elections Department at the Country Fair Kitchen; or online at www.flathead.mt.gov/election.

Registered voters wanting to confirm their registration, precinct and location of polling place may access that information in one of three ways:

v Flathead County website — www.flathead.mt.gov/election and click on the My Voter Page link.

v Secretary of State website — www.sos.mt.gov/elections, click on the My Voter Page link.

v Call the Election Office at 758-5535.
