Domestic fight leads to pursuit, arrest

Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man for partner or family member assault following a vehicle pursuit.

The man’s wife reported he assaulted her at their Shiloh Drive home, hitting her and throwing her belongings out of the house. She said he had been drinking after being sober for eight years. The man did not stop for police when they located him driving his vehicle and apprehended him after a pursuit.

A violently upset Kings Way resident said his 12-gauge was going to “go off” if scam artists showed up at his home. He said he signed up for a contest a year earlier, was advised that he won and sent in an $800 check to collect his winnings, which he never received.

He went on to say that the company keeps calling him, saying he won and that they want money from him. He told them no, but they described his home and said they were coming by.

A landlord had to be advised of proper eviction procedures after his tenant contacted police to say the landlord was kicking him out of his Whitefish Stage Road home without much notice and had locked up his tools in exchange for rent.

The tenant said the landlord told him he had to move out so the landlord’s daughter could move in. The landlord was told by police that holding property in lieu of payment is not allowed, nor was barring the tenant’s access to the home and shop until he was formally evicted.

A man in Marion reported suspicions that his neighbor had stolen from him after he delivered wood to the neighbor’s home and saw a box of his belongings in the neighbor’s garage.

A Ranchetts Drive man in Bigfork reported someone stole a blank check from him and had now used it at Walmart. He believed his son was the culprit and had not yet decided whether to seek criminal charges.

A Kokanee Bend Drive woman in Columbia Falls was warned that if any more complaints came in about her dog, it would be impounded.

A home on Larch Lane was burglarized and $20 and a sword stolen. The resident said the burglar looked at her pistols but did not take any. A 15-year-old boy was suspected in the crime.

Pepper spray was used during a traffic stop on U.S. 2 East in Columbia Falls, where a motorist was believed to be driving drunk.

A Marion resident reported hearing at least a dozen shots fired to the south of her home.

A snowmobile was stolen on Cooperative Way.

Three rolls of 36-inch chain-link fencing were stolen on Pleasant Lane.

A young man was reported spinning brodies in a parking lot on Woodland Park Drive.

Five mailboxes were smashed on Two Mile Drive.

A row of mailboxes were smashed on Spring Prairie Lane in Whitefish.

Someone threw a rock through the window of a recreational vehicle on Spring Creek Drive.


A woman believed to be drunk or high was reported to the Kalispell Police Department. The woman was having a fine conversation with herself while at a store on U.S. 93 North. She had a small child in the vehicle with her and drove away before officers arrived.

Officers counseled a 15-year-old boy and his mother after the boy got in her face when she found drugs and alcohol in his room at their Second Avenue East home. The boy is currently on probation for criminal trespass and criminal mischief.

An employee at a Third Avenue East North business asked for a panhandler to be removed from the property.

A Fourth Avenue West resident asked an officer to check the home after the resident returned home and found the lights on after not leaving them on. No one was found inside the home.

A motorist was arrested during a traffic stop on West Center Street.

A man was arrested on a warrant on Third Avenue East.

An iPhone was stolen on Grandview Drive.


Fireworks set off in the area of Colorado Avenue led to several calls to the Whitefish Police Department early Wednesday morning. About 12 explosions were reported by one person, while another reported she was sure it was gunshots. Officers tracked the suspects to Central Avenue, but they ran into a bar and out the back and escaped.


An upset granddaughter contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department after someone threw a dead cat on her grandmother’s vehicle.

A woman reported her 36-year-old daughter missing Tuesday after she hadn’t been seen since leaving a bar on Ninth Street West with a member of the band that had been playing that night.

Graffiti was reported on a bar and another business on Nucleus Avenue.

A vehicle was burglarized on 11th Street West.


Polson Police Department officers arrested a person on Seventh Avenue East for violating probation.

While investigating a report of vandalism on 17th Avenue, officers found a person in possession of drug paraphernalia.


Lake County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a person for possession of drugs at a trailer court.

Deputies investigated a burglary at a trailer court.


The Ronan Police Department located a person in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia at an auto dealership on U.S. 93.
