Ride from bar a costly one

Saturday afternoon, a woman told Kalispell Police she got a ride from the bar with an unknown person Friday night and lost her wallet and phone when that person drove off with them after she got out to talk to a friend. The bar told the woman she could come look at video and try to identify the driver, but she didn’t know if she wanted to do that.

A Fourth Avenue East caller said he just wanted officers to know about another man who has been threatening him both over the phone and in person. The man also has been making comments about firearms and threats toward President Obama, the caller said.

Someone reported a cashier who was unresponsive for about 30 seconds at a store on West Idaho Street.

A single-vehicle accident at West Wyoming Street and Sunset Boulevard briefly shut down northbound lanes of traffic and damaged the golf course fence.

Shortly after midnight Sunday, a Fifth Avenue East woman reported three subjects who knocked on her door and left on foot.

A Fourth Avenue East man told police he doesn’t want to make any problems with his neighbor, but she always “watches loud music” past midnight and is always on her treadmill at five in the morning.

Saturday afternoon, a woman on Dakota Avenue reported a black bear in a tree in her backyard to Whitefish Police. Officers spoke with neighbors who advised the bear has been coming back and forth for a few weeks.

Two men “driving crazy” in a black or dark gray Subaru and cutting other vehicles off made off with a warning from an officer after the person who reported them driving recklessly said that would be OK.

Saturday evening, officers arrested someone in connection with a physical disturbance reported on East Second Street.
