Mildred C. Britzman Chidley, 93

Mildred C. Britzman Chidley, 93, died Nov. 27, 2012, in Campbell, Calif.

Mildred was born July 28, 1919, in Glasgow, the next-to-youngest of nine children of pioneer homesteaders William and Paulina Britzman. She was valedictorian of her Glasgow High School class of 1937.

In her younger years she served as a deacon in the Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed sharing the fruits of her flower gardening and needlework interests.

She and her husband Neil raised their children in Kalispell and Butte. Following his death in 1995, she moved to California to be near her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Neil F. Chidley; sisters, Wilma Britzman, Alice Bates, Clara Dix, Marie Pulliam and Edna Davidson; and brothers, Lee and Carl Britzman.

She is survived by her children, Linda Lewis and Russell of Saratoga, Calif., and John Chidley and Judy of Richmond, Va.; and brother, Wilmer J. Britzman, of Glasgow. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Katie Lewis Scott and Paul, Matthew Chidley, and Jennifer Chidley Prunty and Robert; and great-grandchildren, Sadie and Mia Scott and Charlotte, Robert, Rebecca and Christian Prunty. Mildred also had great pride and interest in her many nieces and nephews, and their children and grandchildren.

At her request, no services will be scheduled. Her family will return her ashes to Montana at a later date.
