Cranky man confronts plow driver

A confused plow truck driver contacted the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office after a man jumped onto her truck and shouted obscenities at her for not plowing his road yet. She said she was not afraid of the man, but that it was not OK for him to be on her truck.

A Columbia Falls woman on Bluejay Way reported her 21-year-old daughter was at her home shooting methamphetamine. The woman said she had come home and found a spoon with drugs in it and a pot with drugs in it. Deputies showed up and arrested the girl.

A dedicated trapper was reported after setting up beaver traps by the Stillwater River at a U.S. 93 North golf course in Kalispell. He was advised by a manager at the golf course — who knew the man did not have permission to be there and had gone past several no trespassing signs — to pack up his things and go. A nearby homeowner reported the man came back the next day.

A frustrated Kalispell resident on Wintercrest Drive reported his neighbor’s dog was loose again, and that he believed the dog’s owner has a police scanner due to the fact that the man always picks up the dog just before police arrive.

A pair of motorists driving sedans were reported spinning brodies on West Monture Ridge.

A pair of trucks hauling cattle on U.S. 93 South in Kalispell were reported to be severely overloaded.

A chain saw and two handheld radios belonging to Flathead County personnel were reported stolen.

Someone stole several tools from an unlocked vehicle on Shady Glen Drive.

Someone broke a window at a U.S. 2 East business in Kalispell.


A concerned parent contacted the Kalispell Police Department to report that a 12-year-old boy pulled a gun on his 12-year-old son and another boy while showing it to a third boy on Darlington Drive.

An officer was pulled into the fallout of a failed relationship after a student at a Fourth Avenue West school reported he had given his grandfather’s heirloom ring to a girl with whom he had broken up, who now refused to return it. She initially told the officer it had been given to her willingly and it meant a lot to her, but agreed to give it back after the officer told her it would be in the best interest of both her and her ex-boyfriend to move along and sever all ties.

A man with a change of heart turned himself in two hours after hitting a fire hydrant and a fence in his vehicle at the intersection of Rosewood Drive and Liberty Street.

A frightened Sixth Street West resident reported there was an energy drink can in the mailbox of the home and would not check it for fear that it was a ‘can bomb.’ It turned out to just be frozen.

Several teachers at a Fourth Avenue West school adhering to the old adage reminding people to “follow your nose” reported a student who smelled like marijuana.

An older drunk man wearing dark clothing was reported wobbling while walking in traffic on Sunset Boulevard.

A license plate was stolen from a business vehicle on Fifth Avenue West North.

A computer was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Grandview Drive.

A vehicle was burglarized on Parkridge Drive.


A Crestwood Court resident who enjoys watching cable reported to the Whitefish Police Department that her home had been burglarized, with four televisions, carpets and other items stolen.

A man was arrested after officers found marijuana in his pocket during a traffic stop on Wisconsin Avenue.


A frightened Seventh Street West resident contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department after seeing a flash and hearing a big boom that shook the house. The resident was afraid to look outside.

A second call then came through reporting a sound like a gunshot. It was believed to have been either a transformer exploding or, as several people in the area told investigating officers it might be, a sparkler bomb.
