Hostile woman not a fan of New Yorkers

A man visiting from New York called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office for help after the woman he was staying with kicked him out and told him there was a local gang “that will take care of New Yorkers like you.”

A U.S. 93 South woman in Whitefish requested deputies after returning home and seeing snow prints and what she believed was a person inside her home. She ran outside and grabbed a shotgun, which she put down when advised by the dispatcher that the deputies had arrived.

A vindictive evicted renter on Capistrano North East was believed to have removed the well head on the property and dumped oil into the well.

An observant girl saw a pair of teenage boys stop by railroad tracks across South Hilltop Road and bury something. When she and her boyfriend investigated, they found a pipe and drugs.

A Tahoe Drive woman reported an unidentified man wearing an orange hunter’s hat was beating on her door and telling her to let him in.

A distraught or drunken woman was reportedly lying in a snowbank in a ditch on East Reserve Drive. She later started yelling, and then got up and walked away.

Several residents in the area of Wild Goose Run reported an explosion that shook their homes, followed by gunshots.

A battery thief was reported on Dawson Trail, where a woman said someone tried to break into her truck to steal the battery and successfully stole the battery from her neighbor’s vehicle.

A Stoner Creek Road resident in Lakeside reported 150 assorted pills stolen.

A Bierney Creek Road resident in Lakeside finally reported a handgun that was stolen last year, because she now thinks she knows who stole it.

A motorist was caught on video spinning brodies in the parking lot of a Lower Valley Road business.

A silver 1999 Dodge Durango was stolen on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell.

Someone went through outgoing mail on Haskill Basin Road in Whitefish, searching Christmas cards for money.

A row of mailboxes was vandalized on North Hilltop Road in Columbia Falls.

A bunch of meat was stolen from a freezer in a garage on Lakeside Boulevard in Lakeside.

A camera was stolen on River Road in Columbia Falls.

A leather coin purse was stolen from a vehicle on West Reserve Drive.

A taxi driver contacted the Kalispell Police Department to report a man driving recklessly, speeding down the middle of U.S. 93 South. After the initial report, the man was stopped by a special agent with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. While the agent was talking to the man, he drove off, running over the agent’s foot.

A woman was arrested for drunken driving after she nearly hit another car and the driver saw an open beer and a six pack sitting in the woman’s front seat. The witness followed the woman, who drove circles in a fast food restaurant’s parking lot before going through the drive-through. The woman then went to another store, where she hit a car in the parking lot.

A wily shoplifting woman also on probation for forgery escaped from a North Main Street business after being apprehended by employees while trying to steal jewelry and hair supplies. Following a brief police chase, she voluntarily returned.

A Meadow Vista Loop woman reported that her son had been arrested the previous night, and that while cleaning his room she found syringes and what she believed was methamphetamine.

A pregnant woman complained of head pain and another person suffered a possible broken nose in a four-vehicle accident on Three Mile Drive at North Meridian Road.

An apartment building on North Meridian Road was evacuated briefly while a small gas leak was located and dealt with.

A woman was counseled after she was seen riding her horse on a Kenway Drive property she had trespassed on in the past.

A motorist was arrested for drunken driving on Third Avenue East.

A man left an East Idaho Street restaurant without paying for his meal.

A motorist made a clean getaway after he was reported to the Whitefish Police Department when his car got stuck in a car wash stall on Riverside Avenue for half an hour when the doors would not open. He was eventually able to back out of the stall and drive away.

An Armory Road resident was cited for an ongoing problem of dogs constantly barking.

Polson Police officers arrested someone for drug possession on 20th Avenue West.
