Several options valleywide for New Year's revelers

What are you doing New Year’s Eve?

In addition to live music at several venues in downtown Kalispell, bars and restaurants all over the Flathead Valley offer live entertainment and parties to say goodbye to 2012 and usher in 2013. Following is a sampling of New Year’s Eve events:

 

The Red Lion Hotel Kalispell, 20 N. Main St., is hosting a New Year’s Eve Upscale Hoedown. Dinner is surf and turf starting at 6 p.m., and Lethbridge, Alberta-based Trevor Panczak and Rough Stock will provide music.

The Kalispell Eagles, 37 First St. W., will be filled with the Sounds of Country from 8:30 p.m. midnight, with ballroom, country and swing dancing music on the ballroom floor.

The Rockaholics play at Scotty’s Bar, 2205 U.S. 93, Kalispell at 9:30 p.m. Call 257-8188.

 

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s Rockin’ Rail Jam and torchlight parade kick off at 5 p.m.

An open jam session runs from 5 to 6:15 p.m. at the bottom of Ed’s Run. The torchlight parade and fireworks start at 6:15 p.m., followed by awards at the bottom of the rail jam at 6:30 p.m.

Cocinando plays Latin jazz at Ed & Mully’s from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., and, starting at 9 p.m., funk band 20 Grand will rock the Bierstube’s New Year’s Eve party. Party favors, a free appetizer bar, drink specials and free champagne at midnight are all part of the party.

The Kayla Adams Band will perform at The Boat Club, 1380 Wisconsin Ave., Whitefish. Dinner (crab legs and lobster) starts at 5 p.m.; Adams will play music from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Craig Barton plays at Grouse Mountain Lodge, 2 Fairway Drive, Whitefish, which is also serving New Year’s Eve dinner. Barton goes on at 9 p.m.

Crush Wine Bar’s Platinum 100 Party runs from 7 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. The event features a cash oyster and dessert bar by Stillwater Fish House, a free champagne toast at midnight and music by DJ Kris Moon. Party-goers may come and go as they please.

Only 25 tickets will be available at the door for $33 each. Crush is located at 124 Central Ave., Whitefish.

Indie rock favorites the Flip Wilsons and Missoula-based Miller Creek will ring in the New Year at the Craggy Range, 10 Central Ave., Whitefish. The music starts at 10 p.m.

Two-time Grammy winner DJ Poet is at Casey’s Bar, 101 Central Ave., Whitefish, for a New Year’s Eve party.

DJ Poet is the founder of Listen Deep and member of Ghettoblasterz. He recently wrapped up The E.N.D. world tour as DJ for the Black Eyed Peas.

The Whitefish Moose Lodge, 230 W. 10th St., Whitefish, will offer a New Year’s Eve dinner of prime rib and prawns from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Silvertip will provide live music from 8 p.m. to midnight.
