Rural dog owner unhappy with law

Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies counseled a Le Doux Drive dog owner unfamiliar with county laws after she complained that her neighbor threatened to shoot her dog for chasing his horses. She was told her neighbor had the right, in that situation, to shoot her dog.

After telling deputies she thought since she lived in the country, her dogs should be able to run, she was advised she still lives in Flathead County and the dog at large and vicious dog ordinances apply to her, too.

A concerned Central Avenue woman in Martin City reported her husband had been leaving her very creepy messages saying, “You will die very soon,” and has also called her a couple of times. She told police she has a restraining order against him.

A Flathead Drive man said his friend’s husband broke into her house, stole her car keys and then stole her car. The couple are in the process of getting divorced.

A man who seemed to be on drugs was arrested on Sager Lane after a neighbor reported him walking through a house that was supposed to be vacant.

A Helena Flats Road couple returned home from vacation to a not-so-merry holiday surprise, discovering all of their mail on their porch, with much of it opened and contents missing.

Whitefish Police officers shot and killed a mountain lion after it was reported in the backyard of a Glenwood Road home. The carcass was later turned over to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.

Polson Police officers arrested a person for violating probation.
