It is with great sadness that the family of Glenn Thomas Lietz of Martin City announces his passing at the age of 64 years.

Glenn was born Feb. 6, 1948, in Scobey to Otto N. Lietz and Florence M. (Grantham) Lietz and was raised in Martin City. He excelled athletically, particularly in football. He graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 1967. He attended the University of Montana in Missoula until he was drafted into the United States Marine Corps in November of 1968. Glenn proudly served his country in the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, PFC (Private First Class) in the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge in April of 1969 and returned home. He worked for numerous years in the logging industry; in particular, he enjoyed working alongside his family at Lietz Logging. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially his time spent hunting, fishing and hiking. Glenn attended Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell where he earned an Associates of Arts degree in June of 1983. He was artistic and enjoyed drawing. He took great comfort in his study of the Scriptures and in his faith in Christ. He was a selfless man who was truly loved, appreciated and respected by his family.

Left to remember his life are his daughters, Rachell and Douglas Wilde of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, and Danielle and Brian Penny of Missoula; their mother, Colleen K. Jones of Columbia Falls; and his five grandsons, Hayden Douglas Wilde, Michael Ross Wilde, and Thomas Scott Wilde of Lethbridge, and Elijah Thomas Penny and Bridger Daniel Penny of Missoula. Also left to remember his life are his siblings, Donald and Karen Lietz of Hungry Horse, Connie Micken of Spokane, Avis and Harris Endreson of Columbia Falls, Eileene Lyons of Henderson, Colo., and Carol Buzzell and Virginia Strowbridge, both of Kalispell; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
