Light pole no match for drunken driver

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report from a fast-food place on U.S. 2 East Sunday night regarding an intoxicated woman who drove into a light pole and then drove off.

Earlier in the day, there was a report of a man shooting unsafely at a Whalebone Drive property, and after a deputy confirmed it was unsafe because of the proximity to a neighboring residence, the man agreed to quit shooting.

There was a report of a 17-year-old boy getting highly intoxicated Saturday night and threatening to harm himself and others at a Plentywood Drive residence.

There was a report of a mailbox getting knocked over on Mountain View Drive.

A woman calling from Braig Road reported getting into a fight with her intoxicated brother when he refused to give up the keys to a vehicle.

There was a report of people on all-terrain vehicles causing a disturbance on Cygnet Trail in the Bigfork area.

Early Monday, at about 2:30 a.m., a man reported that he found a suspicious backpack by his front door with a letter on it. The man said that he had reported a theft at the residence earlier in the week.

At about 5 a.m., a Hartt Hill Drive resident reported catching a suspicious man wandering around the neighborhood. The man claimed that he had a flat tire on a vehicle. There was a nearby vehicle that did not have a flat that was driven away from the area. 

 

Kalispell Police got a report of a man assaulted in the parking lot at Kalispell Center Mall Sunday. The suspect later broke the windshield on the reporting party’s vehicle at a nearby location.

A woman calling from Ninth Street West reported spending the night at someone else’s house, and when she woke up, her wallet was missing and someone had attempted to use her bank card.

There was a report of an intoxicated man walking in the middle of the road near First Avenue East and East Center Street.

At about 10 p.m., there was a report of kids shining flashlights in vehicles in Green Briar Drive area. There was no evidence that vehicles had been entered, and the kids claimed they were playing a game with walkie-talkies.

Just after midnight Monday, there was a report of a woman refusing to leave a bar she’d been kicked out of on Woodland Park Drive. The woman was cited for trespassing.

There was a report of carved bears stolen from the front of a business on Airport Road.

There was a report of a snow blower stolen from a residence on West Northview Loop sometime over the weekend.

There was a report of a woman stealing $56 in gas from a business on East Idaho Street.

 

Whitefish Police got a report Sunday about a wallet stolen at a Central Avenue bar.

A person was arrested after a traffic stop on U.S. 93 west of town.

Early Monday, at about 1:45 a.m., there was as report of an intoxicated man laying on the side of West Second Street. The reporting party checked on the man, who got back on his feet and started walking home.

 

Columbia Falls Police arrested someone for disorderly conduct on Nucleus Avenue Sunday night.
