Five to be inducted to Wall of Fame

The Flathead High School Trustees Legends Stadium selection committee has chosen five new inductees to the Legends Field Wall of Fame. The new class will be inducted at tonight's crosstown basketball game at FHS.

The group, which was chosen based on service to the community, excellence in school, athletic accomplishments and accomplishments at Legends Stadium includes:

Jamison Banna, Class of 1988

1987 All Conference and All State first teams in football

Six-time divisional track champion in multiple events

Four-time state champion in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles

Big Sky Conference champion in the 55 hurdles at Montana State University

Holder of three track records at FHS

Mark Gilman, Class of 1991

Two-time All Conference first team and two-time All State second team in football

Tied for sixth all time in receptions at FHS

Member of the state championship basketball team in 1989

Sixth, eighth and 15th all time for single-season scoring in FHS basketball history

FHS record holder for single-season 3-point shooting percentage

Two-time divisional champion in both shot put and discus

Member of two NCAA Div. I football national championships at the University of Nebraska

Co-Captain of the Nebraska football team during his senior season

Inducted into the Montana High School Association's Athletes Hall of Fame in 2005

Bob Raeth, Teacher and coach in Kalispell since 1981

Coach FHS football (1981-2001)

Three state playoff teams

1985 Western Divisional Champs

FHS assistant track coach (1988-present)

Coached nine individual state track champions

An assistant coach on six state track championship teams

Coached Whitefish High School's 1979 state championship football team

Three-time head coach of the West team in the annual East vs. West Shrine game

Alice Ritzman, Class of 1970

Member of the 1970 state championship golf team

Played on the LPGA Tour (1978-98)

Three-time Montana junior golf champion

Two-time Montana State Women's Amateur Champion

Inducted into the Montana State Women's Gold Association's Hall of Fame in 1991

Member of FHS state championshp basketball team in 1982

Ninth and 21st all time for single-season scoring in FHS basketball history

The Legends Wall of Fame is now at 22 members. During the Spring of 2004 the FHS Trustees voted to change the name of Rawson Field to Legends Stadium, in conjunction with improvements being made to the facility. With outstanding students, athletes, teachers, coaches and administrators, the board believed that recognizing "Legends" would be an effective way to distinguish the many different folks who have made a significant contribution to the school community.
