Wire-snipping burglars hit Kalispell

The phone lines and all of the other lines going into a store on Fourth Avenue West North were cut sometime Saturday night, a caller told the Kalispell Police Department on Sunday morning.

An attempted burglary at a store on West Idaho Street was also reported Sunday morning. Some wires to the building were cut and a back door was damaged, the caller said.

Earlier Sunday morning, a caller reported a few cars with the mirrors busted on Eighth Street East and Second Avenue East.

Someone reported a door smashed in and money taken.

At about 4 a.m., a caller on Kenway Drive called to complain about a man next door trying to sing along with the stereo.

A man told police that a woman followed him out of a restaurant on East Idaho Street and hit him for no reason. Police talked to both parties and no one wanted to file a complaint.

Shortly after midnight Saturday, a caller on Fifth Street West reported hearing multiple people in the alley making "quail" noises.

Earlier Saturday night, a caller on Harrison Boulevard reported finding graffiti on a garbage can. Another caller on the same road reported spray-painted graffiti on several garbage cans in the neighborhood.

A caller on Golden Eye Court asked police if they could put up a sign saying the road is closed to through traffic to cut down on sight-seeing traffic because of a crashed airplane. The caller said vehicles are not able to drive through and where they turn around all of the headlights shine into a daughter's bedroom.

A fight was reported on First Street West.

At about 6 p.m., the manager of a business on Third Avenue East North reported three or four juvenile males riding around in handicap carts and shooting soft pellets at the store's baggers.

A man told police he believes some of his guitars and amplifiers that were stolen more than two years ago are at a pawn shop.

Earlier on Saturday, a man told police he was asked to leave a store on U.S. 93 because of an unconcealed weapon. He said he concealed it and they asked him to leave anyway. He wanted to know if that was legal.

A blue and green 1991 Chevrolet truck was reported stolen on Second Street West, with broken glass on the ground where the vehicle was parked. The keys were not in the truck, the caller said.

Meat was reported stolen from a freezer in a garage on First Avenue West.

A caller on Second Avenue West told police that a neighbor has been calling him and making threats. The caller said the man told him he "needs to move" and "had better be careful and watch his back."

Responding to Fourth Street East after a tip, the Columbia Falls Police Department arrested a man for an outstanding warrant early Saturday morning.

A caller on Martha Road complained about a man posting negative information about the caller and his fiancé on Facebook, saying they "deserve a beat down."

The Polson Police Department investigated a theft reported at a grocery store Saturday afternoon.

Later in the afternoon, police cited someone for criminal trespass after responding to a trespass complaint on J B Drive.

A theft on U.S. 93 was reported early Sunday morning to the Whitefish Police Department.
