George F. Davenport, 98

George F. Davenport, 98, of Bigfork, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Expressions Assisted Living in Columbia Falls.

He was born July 2, 1913, in Butte, the son of George and Mary Ellen (Daly) Davenport.

George served in World War II and was a mechanic for Anaconda Company in Butte, retiring in 1976 to Flathead Lake.

He enjoyed fishing and traveling to Yuma, Ariz., each winter and returning to the Flathead each spring.

He was preceded in death by his wife, May Davenport; and his brother, Al Davenport.

He is survived by one sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at a later date.
