Top-ranked Frenchtown showed why it's the best in the state on Tuesday night in Polson, beating the Pirates 61-36.

The Broncs got on the host Pirates early, outscoring Polson by 30 points over the first 16 minutes. Polson played better in the second half, but was too far down to make a comeback.

Senior forward Riley Kenney led the Pirates with 14 points. The Bronc offensive attack was relentless, netting three players in double-digit scoring. Emma Oostdyk scored a game-high 17 points, Sarah Lester had 16 and Vanessa Stavish finished with 13.

The loss cements Polson (5-2 in Northwest A, 13-4 overall) as the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Northwest A divisional tournament, where they'll open against host team Columbia Falls. The Pirates close their regular season on Saturday against Whitefish.
