Lots of crime on tap - and on tape

A Kalispell man’s game camera captured a different type of prey Tuesday, he reported to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office. The camera took a partial side profile photo of a thief who broke through the fence of his U.S. 2 East property and stole two cases of motor oil.

In other crime-related filming, a group of attackers apparently wanted footage of their misdeeds, according to a woman on Tamarack Lane in Columbia Falls. She reported that three women attacked her, and one of them filmed the incident. They apparently tried to rip out one of her piercings and then kicked her in the head, breaking her nose.

Some people want the cars they see on TV, but a Bigfork woman reported she had a TV on her car after a man threw it at her on River Street. No explanation was offered for the bizarre choice of weapon.

A .357-caliber Ruger Blackhawk was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Lower Lost Prairie Road in Marion.

A pump-style sawed-off shotgun was stolen on South Hilltop Road in Columbia Falls.

A theft was reported on Brunner Road in Columbia Falls.

A drunk driver decided he needed a little more alcohol, a fast-food restaurant employee reported to the Kalispell Police Department Tuesday evening. The person came through the East Idaho Street drive-through, sounding intoxicated, and asked for vodka. Informed that the fast-food establishment did not sell alcoholic beverages, the driver parked in a snow bank and eventually left the parking lot, driving east on Idaho Street.

An upset man reportedly stole nachos at a convenience store on West Idaho Street and then threw them on the floor.

An employee of a business on Second Avenue West said that a shoplifter captured on video looked liked someone on the county’s “most wanted” list.

A resident of Glenwood Drive reported that an ex-roommate may have stolen items before moving out.

People were reported breaking into several cars in Woodland Park.

A goalie’s hockey stick was reported stolen from a vehicle at the ice rink in Woodland Park.

The Polson Police Department cited a person for criminal endangerment on Skyline Drive after investigating a possible drunk driver.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office located a driver with a suspended or revoked license during a traffic stop on Main Street.
