Cougars, Crusaders in MCAA state title basketball games

HELENA - Josiah Sheeran tallied 22 points and Josh Jarvis turned in a double-double with 17 points and 10 assists in Flathead Valley Homeschool's 72-61 semifinal victory over Heritage Christian School (Bozeman) on Friday at the Montana Christian Athletic Association state boys basketball tournament.

FVHS, the defending state champions, also received a big offensive effort from Jake Van Buren, who tossed in 20 points.

Sheeran led the team in rebounds with eight.

The Crusaders (16-6) led from start to finish in defeating a team it had lost to twice previously this season.

FVHS will face Stillwater Christian School in today's championship game at 4:45 p.m. at Carroll College.

HELENA - Josh Bray netted 18 points and Stillwater used a big fourth quarter to sink Helena Homeschool in semifinal play.

Stillwater moves on to the championship contest today versus Flathead Valley Homeschool.

Josh Topp, 16 points, and Trevor Holladay, 14, helped guide the Cougars.

Melody Sprunger led FVHS offensively with 10 points.

Stillwater Christian School plays Gallatin Valley Homeschool today at 3 p.m. for the championship. FVHS drops into consolation play.
