Man can break into hotel but can't check into jail...

Officers with the Kalispell Police Department cited and released a man who broke into a room at a hotel on U.S. 93 South and was found sleeping naked inside. He was not taken to jail despite outstanding warrants on him because of overcrowding at the jail.

Officers were unable to track down the source of a mysterious voicemail left with a trauma coordinator on Sunny View Lane in which the caller stated they had cut off their leg.

Tables were turned in a report of a physical disturbance on Second Street West. Although it was initially reported that a man had beaten up a woman, it was a woman who was later arrested.

Officers apprehended two girls when they responded to a report of someone spray-painting the east side of a building on Birch Grove Road. They were later released to their mother.

A home on Coot Court was vandalized, with one possible suspect being an irate homeowner recently evicted from the property. Holes had been punched in the walls - which had also been egged - and fixtures were missing.

An employee of a store on First Avenue East North reported possible drug activity after a customer dropped a sandwich baggie on the floor of the business.

A planter shaped like a pickup truck was reported stolen on Mountain Vista Way.

The rear window was reported broken out of a vehicle on Sixth Avenue West North.

The tires of a vehicle on Sunny View Lane were reported slashed.

A watch was reported stolen on North Main Street.


The Flathead County Sheriff's Office received a report of a thief who didn't manage to take anything useful after breaking into a work vehicle on East Reserve Drive in Evergreen. It was reported that a deposit book with no cash inside and a stamp for depositing checks were taken.

An elderly woman was reported walking down East Cottonwood Drive in Evergreen with a man in his 20s whose hands were handcuffed. The man reportedly tried calling someone over to him as they drove by.

A teenage Bigfork girl was reportedly being stalked by a 19-year-old man who is on probation for assault. It was reported that his fists are considered legal weapons.

A Killdeer Lane resident in Kalispell reported his 10-year-old son had to pepper spray a vicious dog. He said the dog's behavior has been an ongoing problem and is the reason why his son was carrying pepper spray in the first place.

An extremely drunk man was kicked out of one bar and was at another one getting ready to leave after trying to start fights with everybody. It was reported that the man drives drunk on a regular basis.

The rear window of a vehicle was reported broken out on Harmony Court in Evergreen.


Deputies with the Lake County Sheriff's Office invested a residential burglary on Division Street in Polson.

Deputies investigated a report of assault with a weapon on Joscum Lane in Polson.
