Eureka girls bow out of Western B divisional play

HAMILTON — Eureka bowed out of the Western B divisional girls basketball tournament Saturday afternoon, losing to District 7B rival Plains 45-33.

Eureka failed to recover from a two-point second quarter, as Plains held a 23-14 lead at the half.

Carli Allen led Eureka (11-12) in scoring with 10 points.

Diamond LaDeaux had 14 for Plains (12-12).

Deer Lodge outscored ninth-ranked Florence 8-5 in the second overtime to claim the Western B boys divisional title late Friday night.

Deer Lodge (13-10) outscored the Falcons 17-12 in the fourth quarter to force overtime.

Both teams could tally just three points in the first extra session.

Robert Stone led Deer Lodge offensively with 16 points.

Aaron Ward had 17 for Florence (19-4).

Both teams advance to the Class B state tournament March 1-3 in Bozeman.

Bigfork (19-5) claimed the consolation title on Friday.
