Keith Lawrence Grice, 86

Keith Lawrence Grice, 86, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012, in Whitefish.

He was born April 19, 1925, in Pasadena, Calif., the son of Larry and Audrey (Vail) Grice. At a young age, the family moved to Rollins, Mont., where Keith grew up.

Keith married Viola Smith in 1951. They were married for 36 years. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served in the Pacific Fleet on the USS Smalley. He was honorably discharged in 1946, when he moved to Somers and owned and operated Grice’s Communications for many years before retiring.

Keith was a charter member of the Somers Fire Department and a member of the Eagles Lodge in Kalispell. He was also involved in the Fascinators and Flatheaders Square Dance Clubs. 

Keith was preceded in death by his wife, Viola, in 1988; his parents, Larry and Audrey; his sister, Larraine Learn; and two grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Kay Grice of Somers; Turea (Midge) Grice of Homer, Alaska; Norma Commers of Eureka; and Terry Walden of Kalispell; as well as one brother-in-law; two nieces; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and special friend and dance partner Evelyn Laber.

At his request, there will be no services. Buffalo Hill Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family.
