Robert R. Richards, 83, passed away due to an automobile accident Friday, Feb. 24, 2012.

Robert was born Oct. 15, 1928 in Ponca City, Okla., the son of Robert and Nora (McKinney) Richards. He was raised in Kansas.

In 1951, in Napa, Calif., he married Dora Zahler. They were together for 60 years before his passing.

Robert served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He had been a truck driver and was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nora Richards, and his oldest son, Robert J. Richards.

He is survived by his wife, Dora, and children Rickey Lee Richards, Debbie J. Boultinghouse, and Dawn J. Focke; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service for Robert will be held Thursday, March 15 at 2 p.m. at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home.
