State officer aids in man's arrest

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received some help Thursday when its deputies were attempting to arrest a man with a history of being “uncooperative and unpredictable” who was known to carry a police scanner and firearms. An officer with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks located and arrested the man.

A man was looking inside mailboxes and at people’s mail on Antelope Trail in Whitefish.

A girl was arrested for partner or family member assault on Blue Star Ranch Road near Kalispell.

A parked vehicle on Edgewood Drive in Evergreen was shot.

Someone shot a mailbox on Whitefish Stage Road in Kalispell.

A purse was stolen from a fast-food restaurant on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell. The crime was captured on video.

Change and a checkbook were stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Lakeshore Drive near Kalispell.

There was a report of a dog falling through ice at the Shady Lane Pond Friday afternoon. The dog was rescued, and a dispatch for emergency responders was canceled.


The Kalispell Police Department got a report Thursday night regarding two teenagers fighting in Lawrence Park with about 30 high-school kids watching. The group dispersed, but officers located the suspects, arrested them and released them to their parents.

Earlier in the day, there was a report of a window being broken out of a vehicle on Greatview Drive.

A woman reported that a person in another car threw a rock at her window as she was driving by on West Center Street near Second Avenue West.


A woman reported from a Liberty Street residence in Kalispell that her boyfriend punched her in the face. Whitefish Police located the man in a vehicle on Spokane Avenue, arrested him for partner or family member assault, and turned him over to Kalispell Police.


Whitefish Police received a report of theft on U.S. 93 South

Criminal mischief was reported on Baker Avenue.


The Lake County Sheriff’s Office investigated a residential burglary on Black Lake Road in Dayton.

A person was arrested on South Whitetail Road in Ferndale for violating probation.


Officers with the Ronan Police Department arrested a motorist in the drive-through of a fast-food restaurant for aggravated driving under the influence.
