BUTTE — Riley Kenney closed out her career with another strong scoring effort, but it wasn’t enough to save Polson.

Laurel scored first, and often, and never trailed for a 61-46 loser-out victory on Saturday at the Class A state girls basketball tournament.

Kenney led all scorers with 20 points. She also pulled down nine rebounds.

The 5-foot-10 forward/post, according to the Montana Standard, finished her standout career with 999 points.

Anna DiGiallonardo tallied 14 points for Polson (17-6).

Laurel had three double-figure scorers, led by Hannah Weishoff’s 18 points.

The victory advanced Laurel to the consolation final.
