Margaret Amalia (Schultz) Howard, 81

Margaret Amalia (Schultz) Howard, 81, passed away on March 9, 2012, after struggling with dementia for many years.

Margaret was born Margaret Amalia Schultz in Kalispell on Sept. 22, 1930. The youngest child of Gustav and Natalie Schultz, Margaret, known to most as Peggy, was a lifelong resident of Flathead Valley. She graduated from Flathead County High School at the age of 16 and then worked at the Equity Supply Company. On June 8, 1957, she married Donald E. Howard. Dedicated to her family, a helpmate to her husband and a loving mother, Margaret passed her love of reading and learning and her deep commitment to family on to her daughters. After taking time off to raise her daughters, Margaret returned to work at the Equity before retiring.

Her parents, her sister and three brothers and their spouses preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Howard; two daughters and their husbands, Mark and Rose Clevidence of Belgrade, and Scott and Ruth Wheat of Kirkland, Wash.; her brother-in-law and his wife, Eldon and Rae Howard of Whitefish; niece and nephews; and seven grandchildren.

The family appreciates the care and support offered by those of you from Home Options Private Care, Health Care and Hospice and the staff at Immanuel Lutheran Home that worked with Peggy. Thank you so much.

A private family graveside inurnment is planned for Tuesday, March 20 at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Kalispell.
