Would-be burglar cuts shop lock

A Columbia Falls business owner called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office after he was awakened by someone trying to break into his Gordon Avenue shop. The suspect cut a hasp lock off the shop’s outside door but was unable to get inside. It is not the first time someone has tried to break into the business.

A concerned man on Ridgewood Drive in Kalispell called because he thought the girl his roommate brought home might be underage, and he wanted to know if he could ask her for identification.

A Sunrise Creek Drive resident in Columbia Falls said he believes several cars have been casing his neighborhood, where there have been burglaries in the past.

A man found a dead cat of unknown origin on his porch on Hazelwater Lane in Kila.

A woman was arrested for an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop on East Reserve Drive in Evergreen.

A woman contained an aggressive dog from down the road on Ferndale Drive in Bigfork. She said the animal had bitten her the previous week.

A woman and her dog were attacked by another dog on Eagle Bend Drive in Bigfork.

A gold wedding ring with 10 diamonds belonging to an Airport Road resident’s grandmother was reported stolen in Kalispell.

A vehicle was reported stolen on Helena Flats Road in Evergreen.

Parts were stripped from a camper on Rogers Lake Road in Kila.

Drug activity was reported on Eighth Avenue North in Kalispell.

A package was stolen from a porch on Western Drive in Kalispell.

The Kalispell Police Department received a report of three boys on Liberty Street smoking marijuana.

Officers with the Polson Police Department made three arrests Thursday.

One person was arrested for partner or family member assault resulting in minor injury on 10th Avenue East. Another was arrested for criminal trespass at Polson Middle School. The final person was arrested for violating the terms of probation.
