Mountain lion killed near Browns Meadow Road

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Sunday from a Browns Meadow Road resident who said there was a large mountain lion in the area, and her Pekingese chased it off. A Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks warden later gave the reporting party and deputies permission to shoot the lion if necessary. Another warden later reported that the mountain lion had been shot and killed.

There was a physical disturbance report involving a man kicking a woman in the knee at an Angel Point Road residence.

There was a report of people in a vehicle harassing an elderly man on Montclair Drive in Evergreen.

A resident on Tacklin Creek Road in the Lakeside area reported there were people on at least two four wheelers trespassing on private property.

There was a report of a person lying in the weeds off the bypass bike path between U.S. 2 and Foy’s Lake Road. A deputy was unable to locate the person.

A Farm to Market Road resident reported kids breaking windows on a nearby abandoned vehicle.

A person calling from a U.S. 2 address in Evergreen reported the theft of a Honda motorcycle from his home.

There was a report of people in a passing vehicle shooting a vehicle with paintballs on Spring Creek Drive.

A Mission Trail resident reported that people in a dark van shot her front window with a paintball.

At about 2:30 a.m. Monday, a South Cedar Drive resident reported that neighbors shot fireworks at her when she came home. A responding deputy ended up arresting a person on warrants.

Kalispell Police got a report Sunday from a man who said he was assaulted by three men who approached him in a yellow Monte Carlo.

Someone calling from an East Idaho Street address reported seeing a man steal a mountain bike from a neighboring property.

There was a report of an intoxicated man lying in a yard off U.S. 93 South.

There was a report from an Eighth Avenue West address regarding a man who was outside yelling, screaming and acting strange. The man attempted to assault one of the responding officers, who ended up taking him to Kalispell Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.

After responding to a woman’s report of being in a huge argument with her boyfriend at a Sixth Avenue West address, officers arrested him on Columbia Falls warrants.

At about 3 a.m. Monday, there was a report of a fight between three females at an East Washington Street address. Officers ended up arresting a woman and a teenage girl.

There was a report of brake rotors and other scrap iron stolen from a business on North Meridian Road.

A man reported that around 11 p.m. Sunday, he was shot by a couple of kids with five yellow paintballs at a location off U.S. 93 South.

Columbia Falls Police got a criminal mischief report Sunday involving a damaged yard light at a Third Avenue East address.

There was a report of a mailbox damaged on Third Avenue East.

There was a report of an older man harassing customers at a store on Ninth Street West.
