Flathead, Glacier 1-3 at softball jamboree

GREAT FALLS — A long day of softball ended with Flathead and Glacier posting 1-3 marks on Saturday at the Great Falls Jamboree.

The field consisted of 16 teams. All 14 AA teams were in attendance, along with Class A’s Havre and Laurel.

Flathead opened with a 3-2 loss to Billings Skvyiew, but came back to drop C.M. Russell 4-1 before losing to Great Falls High 9-1 and Butte 7-4.

Glacier had a similar route. The Wolfpack lost to Butte 4-1 in its opener, rebounded to whip Laurel 11-6, then lost to Billings Senior 4-0 and Billings West 3-1.

Glacier opens Western AA play on Tuesday at Missoula Hellgate.

Flathead and Glacier entertain C.M. Russell and Great Falls High on Thursday.
