William Marvin Loudermilk, 74

William Marvin Loudermilk, 74, longtime resident of Bigfork, passed away March 24, 2012, in the Comfort Care Unit of the Brendan House.

He was born on July 9, 1937, in Mobridge, S.D., to Herchel Loudermilk and Reva Perry Loudermilk. Bill started school in Lewistown. Later, he grew up and attended school in Harlowton.

He served in the Montana National Guard from 1954 to 1956, then joined the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1960, and then served in the Reserve from 1960 to 1962. During his service he was assigned to the USS Columbus and the USS Yorktown.

Bill was trained as a meat cutter in Toledo, Ohio in 1960 and worked in various towns around Montana.  He then worked at the aluminum plant in Columbia Falls for the next 30 years. After retirement, he went to truck driving school and drove truck over the road and locally for awhile. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and was a member of the Dahlia Society.

Bill was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Herchel and Gertrude Loudermilk.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Johns Loudermilk of Bigfork; two stepdaughters, Shaunda ZeVan Georgiou of Florida, and Lisa ZeVan Lewis and Daryl of Colorado; three sons, Monty, Andy and Terri, and Cory and Kelly, all of the Flathead Valley. Bill is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Reva and John Peccia; 12 grandchildren, Maritsa Georgiou Hamilton; Ryan, Chelsea (Lewis) Ransom, and Brady Lewis; Bobbi Wiggins, Drew and Ron Loudermilk; Jessica White, Riley and Sydney Loudermilk; Zoe and Zina Loudermilk; seven great-grandchildren, Wesley, Reagan, Emma, Onica, Shelbea, Abby and Hunter; two brothers, Ron Loudermilk and Kathy of Colorado, and Gordon Jones and Gerry of Harlowton; two sisters, Linda Walter, and Marilyn Shepherd and Bob, all of Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family encourages that memorial contributions be made in Bill's name to the charity of your choice.
