POLSON — Martina Marquardt hit two 2-run home runs and Riley Kenney and Makaliah Wilson had one 2-run home each as the Polson Pirates stormed past visiting Glacier 15-0 in a nonconference softball matchup on Tuesday.

The Pirates got things rolling right away — they batted around in the first inning for four runs, then exploded in the second inning.

Polson pitcher Shalaina Duford gave up two hits, struck out five, walked one and hit one.

“When you throw a 2-hitter against Glacier, you are pitching very well,” said Pirate coach Larry Smith.

Smith also complimented the work on leadoff batter Ashley Johnson, 3-for-4 on the night with two RBI. She got on base every time she came up.

The Pirates (7-4) play host on Thursday to undefeated Frenchtown in a Northwestern A conference matchup. Glacier (4-7, 5-11) will play host on Friday to Northwestern A Libby.
