Neighbor's dogs a problem for caller

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a resident of Poplar Drive in Evergreen who said if his neighbor’s dogs were shot, he would feel much better. The resident was advised to “be a good neighbor and wait and see,” according to the dispatch log.

Someone cut locks on seven storage units on Montana 40 West in Columbia Falls and got inside at least one of the units, taking several items.

A resident of Second Street in Martin City said he woke up and found his van in a different spot in his driveway. He believed someone took it and returned it the prior evening; he also found a flashlight in the vehicle that did not belong to him. He had left the van unlocked with the keys inside.

Possible drug activity was reported on Forest Hill Village in Kalispell, where a neighbor noticed a rotten egg smell.

A resident of Elk Highlands Drive in Whitefish said someone smashed a wine bottle against his home and chimney.

An Edgewood Drive resident in Evergreen reported children were arguing with her son and had broken a window on the house, possibly with a crowbar.

Someone broke windows at a home on East Lakeshore Drive in Whitefish, where vandalism has been an ongoing problem.

A gun was stolen from a gun vault in a home on Foy’s Lake Road in Kalispell.

Someone burglarized two unlocked vehicles on Valley View Drive in Kalispell.

A set of wheels valued at more than $1,000 was stolen from an apartment above a business on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell.

Someone broke the door knob of a home on Valley View Drive in Kalispell and made it inside, stealing some property.

Someone broke the door on a camper on First Avenue South in Martin City. The owner said it is not the first time someone has broken into the camper and that he had a suspect.

Someone tried to break into a camper on Third Avenue South in Martin City by using an ax to try to pry a door open.

A GPS unit and two iPods were stolen from a vehicle on Trap Road in Columbia Falls.

A Middle Road resident in Columbia Falls caught someone inside her unlocked vehicle and yelled at the trespasser, then went inside and called the sheriff’s office.

A resident of River Road in Evergreen told deputies he believes someone is ransacking vehicles in the area.

Approximately $200 worth of patio furniture was stolen from a cafe on Montana 35 in Bigfork.

Two children were reported standing on an overpass looking down on traffic like they were going to throw something at the passing vehicles.

A motorist reported a very drunk woman on North Main Street whom the driver was afraid was going to be hit by a car.

A person went into a store on First Avenue East North to buy two items; when the buyer came back outside, his bicycle had been stolen.

A 17-year-old shoplifter was cited and released at a business on Hutton Ranch Road.

A California Street resident saw someone dump garbage in his trash can.

An extra patrol was requested on Fourth Avenue West for boys smoking in the area.

Graffiti was found on business equipment on North Meridian Road.

The Columbia Falls Police Department received a report of a “younger kid” looking into vehicles in the parking lot of a grocery store on Nucleus Avenue. The employee who reported the boy said the store has had problems with similar people looking into vehicles.

Someone broke into a car on Seventh Street West, and several personal items were taken.

The Whitefish Police Department received a report of a burglary on Wisconsin Avenue.

A theft was reported on Edgewood Place.
