C-Falls blanks Whitefish in softball

COLUMBIA FALLS — Columbia Falls opened and closed with four-run innings in dropping rival Whitefish 11-0 on Friday in Northwestern A softball play.

The Wildkats (4-1 league, 11-2 overall) had seven hits in the contest by seven different players. Niki Birky and Madison Sandefer both doubled.

Andrea Lamoureux went 3-for-3 for Whitefish and Margot Myers doubled for the Bulldogs.

“Just a good team effort against an improved Whitefish team,” Columbia Falls coach Dave Kehr said.

“We hit the ball pretty hard, but they made some nice plays.”

Whitefish is back in action today, hosting Libby. Columbia Falls travels to Frenchtown for a key league matchup.
