Bigfork qualifies 3 golfers for state
RONAN – Bigfork qualified two girls and one boy for the Class B state golf tournament next week in Billings and Huntley.
Bigfork’s Sara Keenan shot an 82 to finish eight shots off the medalist pace in third behind Missoula Loyola’s Maggie Crippen, 74, and Sadie Crippen, 80, at the Division 3 Tournament on Monday at Mission Mountain Country Club.
Dylan Carlson of Bigfork placed 12th with a 112.
The top 15 individuals in divisional play advance to state, along with the top four teams.
The Bigfork girls did not field a full squad.
In boys play, Bigfork’s Lars Gittings finished in a three-way tie for eighth place with his 82.
Tom Carlson of Loyola shot 68 to snare medalist honors.
Loyola won both team titles.
Bigfork’s boys finished seventh in the team standings.
