Frances Emehiser Sager, 92

Frances Emehiser Sager, 92, passed away on April 25, 2012, in Bremerton, Wash.  

Frances was born on Dec. 11, 1919, in Boise, Idaho, to Madge (Robb) and Frank Emehiser. Frances moved with her parents to Kalispell after graduating from Thompson Falls High School. There she completed business school, and married Edwin Sager on Aug. 3, 1940. A lifelong scholar, she attended Flathead Valley Community College, earning her Associate of Arts degree in her 50s.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Agnes (Henry) Jacobson; brother, Robb Emehiser; great-grandson, Victor Estes; and son-in-law, Gene Hood.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Victoria Sager, of Bremerton, Wash; son, Max Sager, and Connie, of Wasilla, Alaska; granddaughter, Toria Estes, and David, of Anderson Island, Wash.; great-grandchildren, Alec, Sam and Olivia of Anderson Island; grandson, Kevin Sager, and Stefanie; and great-granddaughter, Olivia, of Palmer, Alaska.

Frances was a charter member of the Bible Presbyterian Church, a past officer in VFW and a member of ACBL. She loved to read, play the piano, and walk the beach and forest trails, especially Ashley Lake. She rarely missed a Mariners game, and enjoyed PBS concerts and the Seattle Pops.  

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 10, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. A celebration of Frances’ life will be held at 2 p.m. at Bible Presbyterian Church in Kalispell, with a reception to follow at the church.
