Vote today in school elections
Polls will be open today until 8 p.m. for local school elections.
Below is a recap of polling places, hours and what’s on the ballot.
Columbia Falls
• Vote from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Glacier Gateway School in Columbia Falls or at Canyon Elementary School in Hungry Horse.
On the ballot:
• Elementary general-fund levy request: $91,544.
• High-school general-fund levy request: $81,985.
• Trustee election is for two three-year terms. Candidates are Carl Motichka, Benjamin Shafer, Glenn Wehe and incumbents James Henjum and Jill Rocksund.
Kalispell
• Vote from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Flathead County Fairgrounds Expo Building.
On the ballot:
• Elementary general-fund levy request: $211,500.
• High school building reserve request: $4,127,915 over five years.
• Trustee election: one three-year term in the high school district seat representing the Cayuse Prairie, Creston, Deer Park, and Fair-Mont-Egan elementary districts. Joe Brenneman and incumbent Ivan Lorentzen are the candidates.
Who can vote
Registered voters living in the Kalispell elementary district (for the general-fund levy) and high school districts.
Voters in Cayuse Prairie, Creston, Fair-Mont-Egan and Deer Park districts can vote at the fairgrounds on the Kalispell high school building reserve and the seat on the board. Marion, Pleasant Valley, Smith Valley, Evergreen and Helena Flats may vote only on the high school building reserve levy request.
Kila
• Vote from noon to 8 p.m. today at Kila School.
On the ballot:
• Trustee election is for one three-year term; Angela Carlson and Jennifer Crowley are the candidates.
• One seat on Kalispell high school board.
Olney-Bissell
• Vote from noon until 8 p.m. today at Olney-Bissell School.
On the ballot:
• General-fund levy request: $18,800.
• Kalispell high school building reserve request.
Somers-Lakeside
• Vote from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Somers Middle School or at Lakeside Elementary School.
On the ballot:
• General-fund levy request: $405,000.
• Trustee election is for two three-year terms. Incumbent Dave Alexander, Samuel Bagley, John Hollensteiner and Stephen Naso are the candidates.
• Kalispell high school building reserve request.
West Valley
• Vote from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the West Valley School Library.
On the ballot:
• Trustee election is for two three-year terms. Sean Brannan and incumbents Cory Hill and Jane Wheeler are the candidates.
• Kalispell high school building reserve request.
Whitefish
• Vote from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today in the board room of Whitefish School District Office in Whitefish Middle School.
On the ballot:
• High school general-fund levy request: $45,782.
• Trustee election is for two three-year terms. Candidates are Shawn Tucker and incumbents Shannon Hanson and Patricia Jarvi.
