Carjacked vehicle found at school

Law enforcement agencies throughout the county and in bordering counties as well as in Idaho and Washington were notified after a motorist said a man knocked on his window and said he had been carjacked. The man told him three men with handguns jumped into his car at a gas station in Kalispell and held him hostage until they reached White Oak, at which point they kicked him out of the car.

The notifications were canceled after the vehicle was later located at Somers Middle School.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a person who reported two dogs were loose and running around on the airport runway grounds for the second time in a week. They were not causing problems with planes at that point. The owners of the dogs — both of whom have active warrants, one for the dogs being at large and the other for driving while suspended — were notified that the airport has a permit to shoot animals that interfere with the runway. One of the owners said he understood, but that if someone shot his dog, he would “shoot them back.”

A pair of pit bulls got into a yard belonging to a Columbia Falls man on Jensen Road and killed his rabbits. The man, distraught about his animals being killed, said he shot one of the dogs with a pellet gun and ran one over with his vehicle. His wife said there were three dogs.

A Lakeside woman reported another woman for sending her threatening text messages saying she would “put a bullet in her.”

Deputies left a note on a tent belonging to squatters ordering them to vacate after the owner of the Birch Glen Road property in Whitefish reported them.

A woman was treated at the hospital after she was bitten by a dog on Bitterroot Drive in Marion.

A resident of Elk Park Road in Columbia Falls reported a neighbor’s dogs came into the yard and attacked the resident’s dog for the second day in a row.
