Wildkats top Libby in net dual

COLUMBIA FALLS — The Columbia Falls girls tennis team edged Libby 4-3 Friday, powering through by sweeping the singles matches.

The Wildkats won all four singles matches in straight sets but lost each of the doubles matches in squeaking out a victory over the Loggers.

“(It was a) good strong outing by our singles players to end our duals season,” Wildkats coach Jerry Smalley said.

Libby will host Polson and Whitefish in dual action today.

The Northwestern A divisional tournament begins on Thursday in Polson.

Singles — Gabrielle Stenger, CF, def. Kaya Hardgrove, 6-4, 7-5; Natalie Law, CF, def. Patricia Manikova, 6-2, 6-2; Emma Covill, CF, def. Harley Malmstrom, 6-3, 6-2; Gabby Keller, CF, def. Erin Rogers, 6-1, 6-0.

Doubles — McKenna Emmerton/MiCinze Christopherson, Lib, def. Hannah Sullivan/Tana Wilson, 6-4, 6-2; Kira Kamrud/Kiersten Wendt, Lib, def. Kyla O’Brien/Kira Rose, 6-4, 6-4; Courtney Seward/Hailey Sapa, Lib, def. Becky Boulware/Mariah Briskin, 7-5, 10-6.
