St. Ignatius beats Eureka, 13-1, 13-5

ST. IGNATIUS — Alexa Mrgich batted 2-for-2 with a double in one game and 2-for-4 with two RBIs in the second — but it was all for naught as the Eureka Lions fell to St. Ignatius 13-1 and 13-5 on Saturday in Class B softball play.

Mission’s Kinley Pope hit a walk-off, 3-run homer in the first game.

The teams switched home and visitor positions in the twinbill with St. Ignatius the home team in the first game.

St. Ignatius led the second game 7-4 after five innings, but exploded for four runs in the top of the sixth.

Pope had a triple and a home run in the second game for Mission.
