WHITEFISH — The Glacier Twins AA snapped an 11-game losing streak Sunday afternoon at Memorial Park by rallying for a 9-8 victory over the Calgary Redbirds in the second game of a nonconference American Legion baseball doubleheader.

Jeremy Nielsen scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning. He reached on a double, moved to third on a sac bunt by Garrett Houston and then scored on a throwing error to first.

Glacier trailed 8-3 after three innings, but scored four times in the bottom of the fourth and once in the fifth to tie it up.

“We needed the win,” Glacier Twins coach Scott Murray said. “It’s starting to come together. I’m pretty proud of them for never giving up.”

Glacier almost rallied for a win in the opener, scoring twice in the bottom of the sixth and adding one more run in the seven before falling 7-6.

“(Hugh) Ramlow pitched fabulous (in Game 2),” Murray said.

“(Cory) Davis closed both games on short reps.”

Ramlow fanned three, walked two, allowed five hits and just one run in 5 1/3 innings on the mound.

Glacier also outhit Calgary in both contests, 9-7 and 12-8, respectively.
