Who vandalized vehicle in CFHS lot?

The Columbia Falls Police Department is asking for help identifying the person or people who extensively vandalized a student’s vehicle in the Columbia Falls High School parking lot at approximately 10:45 p.m. Dec. 20, 2011. Several of the vehicle’s windows were broken and the tires were slashed.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at (406) 752-TIPS. Anyone who provides information that leads to identifying those responsible may be eligible for a cash reward.

Two girls were apprehended trying to steal makeup from a store on Ninth Street West. They were released to their parents.

A theft was reported on Fourth Avenue West.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a motorist who saw a truck jackknife on Main Street. The motorist tried to follow the truck and make contact with the driver. A deputy and two detention officers witnessed the incident, in which the truck did not hit anything but could not make it around the courthouse loop and had to back up.

An inattentive driver left a gas station on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell with the fuel hose still attached to their vehicle.

A woman was arrested during a traffic stop on U.S. 2 East in Columbia Falls.

People were reported throwing trash out of a vehicle on Fourth Avenue East.

An Elk Trail resident in Whitefish reported her neighbor’s pit bull attacked her dog.

An employee at a store on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell received a counterfeit $5 bill.

Someone ripped the radio out of a pickup truck on Helena Flats Road.

Someone cut an Ashley Lake sign off at the bolts on Batavia Lane.

A 9-millimeter Smith & Wesson handgun was stolen from a home on Browns Meadow Road in Kila.

A bag of prescription medication was stolen on Trumble Creek Road.

Approximately $65 was stolen from a locked vehicle on Rock Drive.

A pair of binoculars were stolen out of a vehicle on Helena Flats Court.

The Kalispell Police Department advised a man to move along after he was reported living in his pickup truck in a parking lot off U.S. 93 North for about a week. The man was described as being in his late 40s or early 50s with a lot of facial hair. The person who reported the man said he “looks like he’s on the wild side.” The man left the lot on a bicycle each morning and returned each day.

Officers dealt with a drunk man on First Avenue West twice in an hour and a half, first when he refused to leave a business and second when he tried to climb through a back window at the business. A room was arranged for the man at a nearby motel.

Two underage people believed to be drunk were reported sitting in a car off U.S. 2 West.

Someone tied a dog to a tree next to a bar on Airport Road, then left the dog there when they left. It was taken to the animal shelter.

A woman was arrested after running into a store on East Idaho Street, filling a backpack with clothes and running back out.

Officers with the Whitefish Police Department arrested a person during a traffic stop on East Second Street.

A theft was reported on W. 13th Street.

A theft was reported on Baker Avenue.

Criminal mischief was reported on Karrow Avenue.

The Polson Police Department received a report of theft on First Street East.
