Vikes' Mahlum state net champ

MISSOULA — Colter Mahlum of Bigfork defeated Hunter Shima of Ronan 7-6 (5), 6-1 to capture the Class B-C state boys singles title on Thursday.

Mahlum’s victory helped move Bigfork up to third place with 24 points.

Mahlum was 4-0 in state play and did not drop a set.

Conrad, 42 points, won the team title with Valley Christian, 29, second.

Conrad (28) also won the girls title, edging Chinook (27) and Fairfield (26).
