Leonard Henry Wetherelt, 70, passed away May 27, 2012, at his home in Columbia Falls, with his family by his side.

Leonard was born in Miles City on May 5, 1942. He lived on the family homestead in Broadus, going to school there in his early years. He worked on ranches in the area, until moving to Libby in about 1967. He worked in a service station and eventually went to work at the lumber mill from where he retired in 1987.

He also worked with the Boy Scouts in Libby for 25 years. He enjoyed cutting wood, fishing, camping, hunting, and generally being outside.

He moved with his family to Columbia Falls in 2003 to be closer to medical facilities. He was very good about making repairs around the house and helping out others with various projects. He always enjoyed the company of friends.

Leonard was preceded in death by his first son, Jason; and his mother, Virginia.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sharon; son, Matt, and partner, Amanda; and grandchildren, Lita and Rey; his father, Alvin; brother, Lawrence, and wife, Helen; and numerous other family members.

There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 4, at Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish.
