Betty Evalena 'Lena' Mathews, 103

Betty Evalena “Lena” Mathews passed away on Oct. 22, 2012, just days from her 104th birthday that was to be celebrated on Nov. 12.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur E. Dial, and by her son, Everett.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Hutton; by her son, Laverne Dial; and by a large, extended family.

Born in Westfall, Ore., in 1908, her parents were Frank and Cora Shuler.

Lena met and married Arthur, a Canadian, and lived north of the border for many years until the family moved to Montana to settle.
