Valley Voices Christmas concert coming up
The Valley Voices Community Choir presents its Christmas concert, “Winterlight,” at 7 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Flathead High School auditorium.
There is no admission charge.
The 70-member choir is under the direction of Allyson Kuechmann and has been rehearsing for three months. Selections include “For Unto Us a Child is Born” from Handel’s “Messiah,” “Various Themes on Fa La La,” a whimsical variation of “Deck the Halls,” and the lighthearted Calypso tune, “Born is Emmanuel.” Other selections include Christmas favorites “Do You Hear What I Hear” and “Carol of the Bells.”
A group of carolers will lead the audience in Christmas carols before the concert, and audience members may join choir onstage for the “Hallelujah Chorus” finale.
Special musicians featured at this year’s concert include Christ Church Episcopal’s Red Door Bells hand-bell choir, under the direction of David Klassy.
Valley Voices is a nonprofit choir, and includes singers from ages 18 to 80. This is the choir’s 12th season.
