Neighbor finds wallet - and trashed house

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Sunday from a man who said he found his neighbor’s wallet and when he went to return it, no one was home. The house on Ferndale Drive was wide open and totally trashed, and a vehicle on the property was vandalized.

There was a report of a business broken into on U.S. 2 east of Columbia Falls. A customer who showed up was guarding the business until the manager arrived. It was unclear if anything was missing.

A woman reported that someone stole her credit card number and used it to buy a zip line tour at Whitefish Mountain Resort Sunday morning.

A woman reported catching someone rifling through her vehicle while it was parked at the Kalispell Center Mall.

A man calling from Frontage Road in the Columbia Falls area reported that his daughter’s boyfriend stole her dog. The daughter agreed not to pursue charges if the boyfriend returned the dog, which he did.

There was a report of a man and woman having a fight on Montana 35 in Evergreen.

There was a report of a man threatening a neighbor on Ezy Drive for shooting some pet rabbits. It was unclear if the neighbor was the person who killed the rabbits.

A Klondyke Loop resident reported going to a neighbor’s house to talk about an ongoing problem with barking dogs. When he did, a pit bull charged him, forcing him to jump a fence and fend off the dog with a rake.

A person calling from River Drive in Hungry Horse reported that his son brought home a woman, who was refusing to leave. The son and the woman eventually left in his truck.

 

Kalispell Police got a report Sunday regarding a deer stuck in a fenced area on First Avenue West. The deer eventually did get out.

A bicycle was reported stolen from a Quincy Loop address.

A woman calling from a U.S. 93 South address reported that her daughter, age 11, was assaulted by her grandmother and that she witnessed the assault through a window. It turned out that the grandmother is the girl’s legal guardian, and the child appeared to be fine.

There was a report of a man screaming obscenities in front of children on Empire Loop.

A woman calling from South Meadows Drive reported that her garage was vandalized with spray paint.

A woman calling from Fourth Street West reported that her ex-boyfriend, who had been drinking, threw a bottle of shampoo at her and refused to leave the residence. Officers arrived and gave the man a ride to a location on the other side of town. The man returned a couple hours later and was standing at the back door, apparently again refusing to leave.

There was a report Monday morning of a suspicious man “holding onto every pole and tree he could find.”

There was a report of a wallet stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Ninth Avenue West.

There was a report of bicycle stolen from a Fifth Avenue East residence.

An Eighth Avenue East North resident reported that someone damaged his vehicle to break into it.

 

Columbia Falls Police got a report Sunday from a convenience store on Ninth Street West regarding two women who appeared to be so high on drugs that they couldn’t manage to pump gas. The women were gone when an officer arrived.

There was a report of a vehicle that was keyed, possibly while parked on Fifth Street West.
