Ski movie on tap at Whitefish bar

| October 3, 2012 6:00 PM

“Let’s Go!” a feature film by Telemark Skier, is coming to Whitefish Oct. 13.

“Let’s Go!” introduces viewers to the Telemark Skier crew, a high-octane group of skiers in search of the perfect turn. The group is made up of filmmakers, photographers and writers who have collaborated on all aspects of this film to bring it to life. They even serve as the ski talent in the film.

The movie blends appearances from the crew, a first-of-its-kind athlete/content creation team, which includes the likes of JT Robinson and Kjell Ellefson, along with performances by innovative freeheelers like Kate Hourihan, Tony Gill and Andreas Sjobeck.

“‘Let’s Go!’ brings you into our world of living on the road and searching for the best telemark turns on the planet,” said Josh Madsen, owner of Telemark Skier. “We found powder in Norway and filmed the first ever double-cork 1080 on telemark skis. It was an amazing year!”

In scenes both on and off piste, the film showcases the sport’s most avant-garde moves in the deep powder and in the park.

The 50-minute film will act as an introduction into the world of the Telemark Skier crew, who will be producing a six-part Web series this winter.

“Let’s Go!” will be screened at 8 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Great Northern Bar and Grill. Admission is $8 at the door.

The Whitefish stop is part of the fourth annual Telemark Skier movie tour, which makes appearances nationwide. In its 10th-anniversary year of publication, the magazine showcases the diverse freeheel lifestyle and will be available digitally in October through the digital publishing platform Zinio.
