Ida Lea Roberts, 95, of Kalispell, a devoted and loving widow, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away at the Immanuel Lutheran Skilled Care Center on Sept. 21, 2012.

She had lived at the Buffalo Hill Terrace for more than six years after relocating from her home in Oceanside, Calif., in order to be nearer to her family during the “golden years.”

She is survived by her son, James Hadwin, and daughter-in-law, Kathleen, of Bigfork. She had two grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Val, and Scott and his wife Michelle, and five great-grandchildren, Jessica, Cole, Maija, Tanis and Clinton.

She had many dear friends in the Buffalo Hill Terrace community and in the Oceanside area where she had lived for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Roberts; brothers, Eldon and James; and sister, Francine.

Ida Lea was born in Cedaredge, Colo., on Dec. 29, 1916, and spent most of her youth in San Bernardino, Calif.

In her younger years she enjoyed tennis and golf, the latter sport being a favorite for the rest of her life.

Her earlier adult life was occupied as a homemaker and mother.

Later she became an executive secretary and worked at various aerospace companies in the southern California area. Her last place of employment for more than 10 years was at Rose Hills Memorial Gardens where she met Pete, a member of the board, and they later married.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Dec. 27, at Saint Matthew’s Catholic Church, 602 South Main Street in Kalispell.
