Man reports grizzly bear charge, shooting

Sunday afternoon, a man in the Ferndale area told authorities that he was charged by a grizzly bear and had to shoot it. The bear reportedly ran off into the woods. No more information was available as of later that evening.

Saturday evening, Columbia Falls Police told a complaining homeowner on Second Street West that it’s a public street and churchgoers have every right to park out front.

Black bears were reported in an RV park, but left and went back into the woods.

A big black bear was reported walking up and down the block on Third Avenue West before heading toward the river.

Polson Police responded to a disorderly conduct report on Seventh Avenue West and arrested someone for possession of dangerous drugs Saturday evening.

A theft from a motor vehicle on Fourth Street North was reported Saturday morning to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The Kalispell Police Department, Whitefish Police Department and Flathead County Sheriff’s Office did not provide their call logs.
