Audition for Bigfork kids' theater production

| October 10, 2012 8:30 PM

Students in fifth through 12th grade are invited to audition Tuesday for Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre’s next production, “Much Ado About Murder.”

Auditions take place from 4 to 5 p.m. for those in fifth, sixth and seventh grades. Older students audition from 5 to 6:45 p.m. All tryouts are at the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre Afterschool Performing Arts Center, 833 Grand Drive.

Those who want to audition for a part in the “serving” chorus meet at 4 p.m. for a short musical audition; those students (of all ages) have nothing to prepare. The serving chorus is made up of youths playing waiters and waitresses serving meals; they perform in big group numbers.

Those who want to audition for a larger role are asked to prepare 30-second humorous and serious monologues.

Casting will be very tight for this production. Six boys and four girls are needed for speaking roles, and about 15 are needed for the serving chorus.

Rehearsals begin at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 22. Performances are Nov. 8, 9 and 10 at Brumar Estates; the shows are a dinner theater fundraiser.

There is a $40 participation fee, and each cast member is expected to sell four tickets to the event.
