Film festival selections screened in Whitefish, C. Falls

| October 10, 2012 4:30 PM

Films from the 11th annual South Yuba River Citizens League Wild and Scenic Film Festival are coming to the Flathead Valley this month.

The films will be screened Oct. 26 at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish, starting at 7:30 p.m., and Oct. 28 at the Teakettle Community Building in Columbia Falls, starting at 2 p.m.

The films are brought to the valley by the Flathead/Kootenai Chapter of the Montana Wilderness Association.

Eleven selections from the more than 110 films in the festival will be shown in Northwest Montana. The movies combine stellar filmmaking, beautiful cinematography and first-rate storytelling to address challenges facing the planet — specifically in dealing with issues of water and wildland conservation.

Door prizes donated from businesses throughout the valley will be given away at both screenings. Food, beer, wine and soda will be available for purchase at the Whitefish event.

Tickets are $10 at the door.
